Phoenix Park, 1979. both men are currently in
Rome; Ciaran at the Irish College and Gerry at
the Gregorian University.

The college has, in recent years, had some
notable achievements (including one overall
winner, David M. O’Doherty) in The Young
Scientist Exhibition. Gonzaga had earlier
achievements, however; too early to have been
included in the first Gonzaga Records.

In 1970, Peter
Duggan (’74), left,
took second place in
the Junior Physics
Section.

Two years later, he was
adjudged joint 2 place
nd
overall winner for his
physics project entitled

‘A simple, more efficient,
less expensive colour
television Cathode Ray tube,
with associated circuitry’.
He was later closely
associated with the
development of colour TV
in RTÉ, where he has been
working as an engineer ever
since.
